Bride of India: The Sikh Bride | STYL-INC-Stylblog!
Last Updated on June 22, 2024 by Team Styl.
A Sikh wedding or Anand Karaj is a very unique and serene ceremony. A lot of people get confused between a Punjabi and Sikh bride, so we’ll sort that for you today! Here is Styl-Inc’s vision of a Sikh bride and Sikh wedding ceremony.
DÉCOR
The ceremony takes place in a Gurudwara, where the couples takes rounds of the Guru Grant Sahab, their religious book. The setting is very simple and decorated with just flowers. We wanted to put across the same vibe and thus used a lot of different and vibrant blooms in the background. Using florets makes the space very lively and open.
BRIDAL ELEMENTS
A very distinctive feature of Anand Karaj is that it takes place in the morning, owing to that we kept pastel as the color palette. The bridal lehenga has a lot of butterfly motifs combined with sequins which make the ensemble glittery yet subtle and elegant. A light meenakari Guluband neckpiece, which is a traditional Sikh ornament has been added along with meenakari jhumkas. Specific elements were added to the brides face to make the entire look very soft and petite. The makeup was kept with minimal and dewy and a matt lip with wavy, side braided hair falling on the face. Even the nath chosen was a pearly one to add a delicate feel to the face. Addition of floral kaleere completed the look.
STYL-INc’s Sikh Bride
According to our Founder/CEO Meha Bhargava, “A bride should never be a vision of someone else’s imagination or stereotypes, she should represent herself by accentuating her features and most importantly her personality.”
