Sonia

When it comes to a wedding, every bride wants to look her best. But for many, the pressure of choosing the right clothes, the right jewelry, and the right colors for five or six different events can be overwhelming. This was the situation for our lovely client, Sonia. While she had a very clear vision for her actual wedding ceremony, she wasn’t quite sure how to handle the rest of her big week.

At Styl Inc., our goal is to take that stress away. We don’t just pick out clothes; we create a complete story through fashion. For Sonia, this meant taking her from a beautiful beach wedding to a high-fashion reception and several fun, colorful pre-wedding parties. Through careful planning, custom jewelry design, and a lot of research, we helped Sonia turn her dreams into a reality.

Client Introduction

Name: Sonia

Background: Sonia is a bride who knows what she likes but needed professional help to bring all her ideas together. She wanted her wedding to feel personal, stylish, and perfectly suited to her personality.

Event: A multi-day destination wedding celebration. The events included a Welcome Lunch, a Mehendi ceremony, a Haldi ceremony, the main Wedding ceremony on a beach, and a grand Reception.

Sonia came to us with a clear starting point: she was getting married on a beach with beautiful trees in the background, and she knew exactly which outfit she wanted for that moment. However, she was stuck on the other four major events. That is where our team at Styl Inc. stepped in to provide professional wedding styling services.

The Challenge

Every bride faces a unique set of challenges. For Sonia, the main hurdles were:

  1. Connecting the Dots: Sonia was very sure about her wedding day look but had “no idea” what to do for the other functions. She had small ideas but couldn’t see the full picture.

  2. Color Matching: She wanted a “blush pink” theme for her beach wedding to match the natural surroundings. Finding the right shades and contrasting them with the right jewelry was essential.

  3. Heritage vs. Modernity: Sonia originally wanted to wear her mother’s traditional Banarasi saree for her welcome event. When that didn’t work out technically, we had to find a way to keep that traditional feeling while using a modern designer outfit.

  4. Jewelry Coordination: Sonia didn’t just want standard jewelry. She wanted “statement” pieces that would stand out and look unique. This required us to look beyond what was available in stores and create something custom.

  5. Time and Logistics: With five major looks to finalize, Sonia needed a systematic approach. We organized two major trips for her, one for the initial shopping and another for the final fittings and jewelry selection, to make sure everything was perfect.

The Solution

Our approach at Styl Inc. is always to listen first. We spent time understanding Sonia’s likes and dislikes. Once we knew she loved the “beach vibe” and specific designers, we began our bridal styling research.

Consultation and Research

We started by looking at the venues. Since the wedding was outdoors, we focused on fabrics that would breathe and colors that would look great in natural sunlight. We did a “whole lot of research” to find pieces that would complement her personality. Because we did this work early, when Sonia arrived for her shopping trips, the process was much simpler and faster.

Outfit Selection

We chose a mix of famous designers to give her a diverse wardrobe:

Masaba Gupta: Known for her fun, modern prints, she was the perfect choice for the Wedding and the Haldi.

Sabyasachi: For the Reception, we went with this legendary designer to provide a classic, royal feel.

Amit Aggarwal: We chose his work for the Welcome Lunch to give Sonia a sharp, modern silhouette that still used traditional fabrics.

Aisha Rao: Her unique prints were perfect for the Mehendi to give Sonia a vibrant, colorful look.

Custom Jewelry Design

The real “magic” in Sonia’s look came from the jewelry. We didn’t just buy necklaces; we redesigned them.

Layering: For the wedding, we took three individual pieces of jewelry and layered them to look like one massive, custom set.

The “Showstopper” Piece: For the reception, we worked with jeweler Shilpi Goyal. We took different elements from four different necklaces and combined them into one giant statement piece. It was a one-of-a-kind creation designed specifically for Sonia.

Implementation

The process of bringing these looks to life required a lot of behind-the-scenes coordination.

Fittings and Adjustments Sonia visited us twice. During the first trip, we visited all the designers and picked the base outfits. During the second trip, we focused on the “fine-tuning.” This is where the wedding fashion consultant role is most important. We spent hours ensuring the fit of each blouse, the drape of each saree, and the weight of the jewelry were all comfortable and perfect.

Coordination with Designers We acted as the bridge between Sonia and the designers. For example, with Masaba, we made sure the “tree embroidery” on the lehenga was highlighted because it matched the beach theme. We also worked with Purab Paschim to ensure the “chura” (bangle stack) and “kaliras” were exactly the right shade and size to match her blush pink lehenga.

The Results

The outcome was a series of looks that were not only beautiful but also told a story of a modern bride who respects tradition.

  1. The Welcome Lunch : Since the mother’s saree didn’t work, we chose a red Banarasi saree-gown by Amit Aggarwal. To make it special, we styled it with 8 to 10 lines of pearls. This look went viral on social media because it was so unique and elegant.

  2. The Haldi: Sonia wore a simple and chic crop top, pants, and cape by Masaba. We added floral jewelry to keep it fresh and fun.

  3. The Mehendi: We used a printed Aisha Rao saree and added a classic olive green Sabyasachi belt. This “edge” made the outfit look high-fashion rather than just a traditional saree.

  4. The Wedding: This was the star of the show. The blush pink Masaba lehenga looked stunning against the ocean. The green-toned jewelry provided a perfect contrast to the pink, making her look like a dream.

  5. The Reception: The ivory Sabyasachi lehenga was the “canvas” for her custom-designed jewelry. It was a “banger” look that left every guest in awe.

Client Satisfaction: Sonia was incredibly happy with the results. She felt that we truly understood her “brief” and made the complicated process of styling five events feel easy. She loved that her jewelry was unique to her and wouldn’t be seen on any other bride.
