This wedding styling journey was filled with unique challenges, from remote fittings to tight timelines. Through expert coordination, personalized styling, and seamless execution, we ensured Lorraine and Aakash’s vision came to life flawlessly.
Fittings & Virtual Adjustments:
One of the biggest challenges was that the couple and their families did not return for fittings. This required precise measurements, thorough quality checks, and multiple consultations with designers to ensure every outfit fit perfectly upon arrival.
Convincing the bride’s family to experiment:
Lorraine’s family was hesitant about Indian wear as they were wearing it for the first time. Initially, they were reluctant to try different silhouettes, especially Lorraine’s mother, who was apprehensive about sarees. Our team provided a comfortable and reassuring styling experience, encouraging them to explore new looks. We ensured they felt confident and beautiful in their chosen outfits through patient guidance and styling expertise.
Time Constraints:
With only one week for shopping and styling, precise coordination and expert execution were crucial to ensuring fittings, alterations, and customizations were completed in time.
Styling Needs:
Lorraine and Aakash, along with their families, traveled to India for a week-long shopping trip. They needed wedding outfits for the bride, groom, and both families. The challenge was to style 21 outfits within this tight timeframe while ensuring personalization and a seamless shopping experience.
- Lorraine, a Catholic bride, wanted to wear a white ivory lehenga instead of a traditional white gown. Her vision was a soft, elegant, and contemporary bridal look with traditional elements. She was particularly meticulous about her veil, emphasizing the need for a grand entrance.
- Aakash initially considered buying his tuxedo from the USA, but we guided him toward a more customized and unique ensemble in India. Additionally, his wedding attire needed to blend tradition and modern sophistication.
The Solution
Through in-depth virtual and in-person consultations, we collaborated with designers to bring Lorraine and Aakash’s vision to life, curating personalized ensembles while ensuring seamless coordination for the entire family.
Consultation Process:
Our team at Styl Inc. conducted in-depth virtual and in-person consultations to understand Lorraine and Aakash’s vision. We sketched designs and worked closely with designers to create the perfect ensembles. Given the bride’s insistence on a perfectly structured veil, multiple discussions and virtual consultations were conducted to achieve the desired look.
Outfit Selection:
For Lorraine:
- Catholic Wedding: A Seema Gujral white ivory lehenga with delicate applique work, paired with a customized 90 cm long veil for a grand entrance.
- Sangeet: A Varun Bahl floral organza lehenga—lightweight and comfortable for dancing while maintaining a bridal feel. Styled with a delicate pearl set to complement the 3D embroidery.
For Aakash:
- Catholic Wedding: A teal three-piece tuxedo by Sarab Khanijou, breaking away from the traditional black tux.
- Indian Wedding: A blush pink embroidered sherwani by Sarab Khanijou with a matching stole and a kamarband, which he was initially reluctant to try but later loved as it added a perfect traditional and regal touch.
- Sangeet: A floral achkan with a placket jacket from Varun Bahl, designed for versatility—it could be worn closed for pictures and opened for dancing.
Family Styling:
- Groom’s Mother: Elegant Jayanti Reddy saree for the Catholic wedding and a floral Rajdeep Ranawat lehenga for the Sangeet, customized with added tassels and beads for extra playfulness.
- Sister of the Groom (Varsha): Having been styled by us for her wedding three years ago, she wore a floral red lehenga from Mahima Mahajan for the Sangeet and a classic Sabyasachi saree for the wedding.
- Bride’s Family Shopping Destinations: Basanti Kapde and Coffee, Aza, and Kalki.
- Father’s Attire: A red jacket and kurta set from Jatin Malik.
- Brother-in-Law’s Attire: A purple-hued long jacket ensemble from Pernia’s to complement Varsha’s pink-hued saree.
Accessories and Details:
- The veil was structured with a comb attachment to sit seamlessly on Lorraine’s bun without disrupting her overall look.
- Aakash’s wedding stole was carefully selected from multiple fabric options, ultimately opting for organza for an elegant finish.
- The family’s outfits were coordinated while ensuring each member’s style was reflected.
Implementation
Every outfit was meticulously tailored, customized, and quality-checked to ensure a perfect fit despite time-remote fittings.
Fittings and adjustments:
- Customizations were made based on Lorraine’s vision for her blouse neckline and veil.
- Aakash’s tuxedo fitting was expedited to ensure he received a sample fitting within the week.
- The bride’s family’s outfits were tailored to perfection despite their reluctance to experiment with Indian wear.
Coordination with Vendors:
- Close collaboration with Seema Gujral’s team for Lorraine’s custom veil.
- Worked with Sarab Khanijou to ensure Aakash’s tux and sherwani sample fittings were tailored within the short timeframe.
- Styled family outfits from brands like Jayanti Reddy, Rajdeep Ranawat, Sabyasachi, Mahima Mahajan, and Jatin Malik.
Final Presentation:
- Each outfit was meticulously checked for quality before delivery.
- Despite the clients not returning for fittings, our rigorous quality checks ensured every outfit fit perfectly upon arrival.
