StylCouple Prateek & Eesha’s Destination Wedding in Baku, Azerbaijan | Styl-Blog | Stylinc
Last Updated on August 8, 2024 by Ishika Malhotra
This wedding wasnโt just another project for Styl-Inc. It was our StylFamily. So, everything became more personal for the team. Catering to each family member with a different personality & sense of dressing was a challenge we took in strides. This was the wedding where we ventured in Event Styling. This amazing destination wedding was what we wanted to look like a fairytale come to life.
It was where we pre-planned & visualized all the dรฉcor & placements according to the theme. It was all done while having a conversation with our Planners Chapter.2.Events & the decorators. As this wedding was first going to take place in Kazakhstan on the lakeside, so all the planning for the theme & wedding shopping was done according to the theme. Read how we pulled off the wedding within a month because of some unforeseen circumstances. And what a beautiful destination wedding we pulled off in Baku, Azerbaijan! Hereโs how we thought through the process for #PrateekGetsBugged.
The Story
Their love story began at an office party. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged back and forth over whiskey for weeks after that. They soon discovered a mutual love for travel, food, and drinking. The rest is history. Overtime & a gazillion trips across India for work got them even closer and thus began to cherish their conversations & time together. In fall last year, Prateek popped the question in the middle of a desert in Dubai and Eesha said yes! And so, the journey beganโฆ
Wedding Venue
In the Windy City of Baku, Azerbaijan, wrapped around the wondrous Caspian Sea is the awe-inspiring Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers. The USP of the wedding was the fact that it was planned a month before the actual date! Kazakhstan being the first choice was a no-go owing to the airspace shutting down and sweat and turmoil of 6 months spent in planning Kazakhstan wedding was to be diverted to Baku. Making this destination wedding one of a kind!
Baku, being the wedding planners Chapter 2 Events second wedding venture, seemed to be a breeze, but every wedding comes with its obstacles and this was no different. With the closing of Pakistani airspace, everything seemingly went into a spiral. Leaving everyone to rethink the destination.
But fortunately, both Kunal Laungani of Chapter 2 Events (C2E) & Meha Bhargava of Styl.Inc respectively took up the task of managing things on every front with quick thinking. Changing gears with only one month to do the prep was a massive task.
But they delivered in strides without stressing out the families. And what an amazing wedding it becomes when your clients are happy & the fruits of your labor are so appreciated.
The Shopping
Keeping in mind a little chilly weather, everything was planned accordingly. We had two events which were happening outdoors, both morning events. The wardrobe that was decided was all pastels for the family.
Each family member was given a color palette they could choose from depending on their skin tone & preferences.
This process started about 3 months before the wedding, as we had to help create mood boards for the Bride & the groom. It was to see what kind of outfit choices they made. And what hairdo & makeup options we could give them for each event. Our bride wanted to keep it traditional but very elegant.
While some of the team was dedicated to the bride & the groom, some of us helped out with the family’s wardrobe. The menfolk had to have suits & jackets and Indian wear while the ladies needed just Indian wear.
The Engagement
Our StylCouple Prateek & Eesha wanted an elegant & chic ceremony. After the teams & family scouted for venue options, everyone agreed that they loved Amaanta Farmโs panache. With its opulent dรฉcor & wide-open space, it was all about celebrating the venue itself.
As for dressing up, Eesha wanted to keep her look very simple. So, we chose a flowy pink lehenga by Mrunalini Rao. Pairing it with a diamond neckpiece to bring the look together. And Prateek wore a blue silk sherwani by Siddarth Tytler to complement his bride.
The Mehendi
For Mehendi, the familyโs only brief was that it has to be outdoors. So, we decided to go with the Poolside at Fairmont against all odds where everyone could just enjoy the weather & the location while the ceremony goes on!
The dรฉcor was kept simple which included beautiful floral dรฉcor under the canopies to just enhance the location & help the guests enjoy the afternoon.
Our bride wanted a pop of color in her outfit for the poolside ceremony. So, she decided to go for a monochrome indigo lehenga with floral motifs. To complement the lehenga we had some pretty floral jewelry from Prune India for Eesha. The groom wore a mint green kurta with a tint darker Nehru jacket with motifs.
The color palette for the family was to keep it pop! The bright colors from all over the color wheel.
Sangeet
The theme for this event was a fusion of Middle East meets the Mediterranean, all that Azerbaijan as a country stands for. Fusing the Arabic touch with domes, a golden lit arch and adding the Mediterranean flair with florals to amp the glam. With the mix & match of both cultures, we picked dusk and starry-eyed night as our inspiration and played with hues from pinks going to indigos featuring all the glitz of a beautiful night sky in Baku.
The bride wore a beautiful bright pink benarasi lehenga & the groom wore an indigo tuxedo, whereas the entire family followed a similar color palette.
The Destination Wedding
The dรฉcor for the wedding was something we wanted to be an awe-inspiring set-up. For the wedding, the dรฉcor was all about the beauty of our unique location. Set at Dreamland, a golf course resort in the heart of Baku and kept the dรฉcor minimal.
With beautifully draped mandap, stylish seating & fresh flowers set against the luscious green of the golf course proved to be the best canvas, enhancing the look of the set-up straight out of a Pinterest mood board.
The fun element of the wedding was when the groom & his siblings came in a white Hummer, and the bride arriving in a golf cart and the couple departing the wedding venue in a vintage car. Adding to the fun was a jugalbandi of our Indian Dholwalas and Azeri Drummers. Along with dancers that accompanied the baraat. And that made the procession media frenzy in Baku.
Our Team helped style Eesha on-site, finalizing the hair & makeup with the MUA, getting her draped into the lehenga. She wore a beautiful red Anita Dongre lehenga with a red & a dusty pink dupatta. Another member of our team was helping the family of the groom in getting ready. While our CEO supervised the hair & the turban tying for the groom. Prateek was styled into a white sherwani by Sarabh Khanijou with a dusty pink embroidery, a matching pagh & a stole.
Meha wore a delicate powder pink sequin lehenga by Shiva Jangra. Disha Bhargava was styled into an aqua lehenga by Sumona Couture. Also, we chose a beautiful pink & orange Kanjeevaram saree for Mrs. Abha Bhargava from Taneira Sarees.
The Reception (Baku)
The reception was a grand affair filled with surprise elements by the planning team. A musical band from Kazakhstan was brought in to add in the Kazakh flair to the wedding. Some amazing performances by Azerbaijani Dancers & singers kept the guests entertained throughout the dinner service.
The dรฉcor was a mixture of beautifully set tables with lit candles hanging from the floral decoration surrounded with amazing crystal & cutlery. The dance floor had a stunning overhanging floral chandelier that brought the whole look together. When the lights went off & the candles were lit, it looked like a place out of your dream destination wedding Pinterest board.
The Reception (Delhi)
Reception in Delhi summers is always a dreary thought. The styling team opted an Enchanted forest theme, bringing the whole place to look like a setup from Alice and the wonderland. From the table setting to the chandeliers, everything was elegant yet spoke of grandeur. With the color palette being strictly in the shades of green and bringing out the pop with blacks and gold, and whites to finish the look.
The StylTeam with the planners made sure that the ideas were executed by the dรฉcor team at MorBagh. The elegance in the venue could be seen the moment you stepped into the Reception.
The bride wore a stunning bronze sequins lehenga which made her the show stopper of the evening & Prateek looked dapper while complimenting her in a black mandarin collar suit.
The rest of the family were in colors from all around the color wheel.
Everyone dreams of a beautiful destination wedding! Our StylCouple’s destination wedding was definitely something out of a fairytale.
