If you are someone who loves open hair but can’t deal with them coming on your face then a good half up half down hairstyle is for you. It surely can make any look become classy if you know how to correctly pull off the hairstyle and it’s not too difficult either. All you need is a hair tie and depending on the style you are going for some bob pins. That’s it! The hairstyles are perfect for work, or even a casual outing and even if you are just sitting at home.

To avoid the monotony you can experiment with various kinds of style, you just need to know how to make half up half down hairstyle that suits your face shape. What looks especially good with a hairdo like this is if you go ahead and curl your hair. Not only does that give you that extra volume for your hair but also makes for a beautiful overall look while making it look effortless. It would be specially perfect if you have some streaks in your hair. The best part is that these hairstyles are not limited to a single hair length only but can be styled for every hair length. Whether you have long or medium or even short hair this style can be achieved. So read on to find the perfect style for you.

Here are some ways you can achieve a half up half down hairstyle.

The Twists

If you love styling your hair then you could opt for a beautiful hairdo like this. Here’s how to do a half up half down hairstyle like this. First off, you obviously need to curl your hair with a wide curling wand for those nice bouncy curls. That is the only big task of achieving the hairdo, once that’s done it’s only a two minute task after this point.

All you need to do is take the front section of your hair, part them from the center and twist then on both the sides. Secure both twisted sides with a hair tie or you could even simply just pin the section at the back as and when twisted. Repeat the same on the other side. Then simply just merge the stray strands into the rest of the hair and you are all done. If you wish to do something a bit different you could even knot the twisted hair at the back or create a bow out of those.

Braided Half Up Half Down Hairstyle

Another really pretty open hair style is the one with the braid going across. It’s pretty similar to how you achieve the twisted style, only that you make braids instead of the twists. It’s again rather easy, part the front of you hair and braid the front section from both sides. Once you secure them with a hair tie make sure you are pulling the braid out to spread it out a bit to achieve an affect of this sorts. If you would like a slight bounce in the look then just add a bit of backcombing towards the back section of the hair and then tuck the braid at the back making sure to merge the extra hair. If you are headed out for an event, feel free to add some flowers to the mix for it becomes much easier to fix them in the braid.

The Half-Braid Updo

If you do not want to really put in too much effort then go for something like this. It is one of those perfect hairstyles for open straight hair. Just straighten or blow-dry your hair whichever you prefer and tie a simple braid at the back. You can definitely experiment with a bubble braid like this, all you need are some invisible hair ties placed at equal distances. We love the use of hair scarfs too, you could even use it to braid it with the hair for a unique and easy look.

The Bun Half Up Half Down Hairstyle

This sure is the most popular and easy ones to pull off. Half-bun hairstyles are ideal for any and every occasion and sure look rather chic. All you need to do is tie the front section of the hair in a bun. Make sure you place the bun the crown of the head because a low bun sure wouldn’t look good. You can decide how you wish to style the rest of the hair. One could go for straight hair, or just loose curls at the bottom. You could even add the french braid at the front if you are in the mood for styling your hair a bit. Feel free to carry it to work or a casual hangout sesh.

The Neat & Classy Waves

If you are headed somewhere special then you can play around with waves. This is the kind of hairstyle more suited with gowns and other formal outfits. Create some neat waves in your hair and use section clips to keep them apart. It would be better to tuck the front hair in the back first and then use heat to create the waves which will help effortlessly merge all the hair together. This is a really good formal hairstyle but we would recommend getting it done by a professional to achieve that perfection. You could even tie up all the hair in a high ponytail and leave the waves in the front which would create almost the same effect.

The Classic Half Up Half Down Hairstyle

A classic and super easy to achieve hairdo. This is something we’ve been doing since childhood. Style your hair however you prefer be it straight or curled and simply tie them up in a ponytail. A slightly higher ponytail would be better to complete the look. You could even do some slight back combing to add that volume to the look. It sure is a pretty easy style to achieve.
