Wedding Guidelines in Delhi

• Lockdown has been extended in Delhi and the government has imposed a complete ban on marriages in public places. 
• However, the marriages can be organized at home or a court. 
• Wedding gatherings up to 20 people are allowed and the attendees must have a marriage card for movement and to attend the wedding. 

Wedding Guidelines in Maharashtra

• As per the latest Covid Wedding Guidelines 2021, weddings are permitted with a gathering of only 25 people. The ceremony should not extend the time period to two hours. 
• Violations of laws may lead to a fine of up to ₹ 50,000. 

Wedding Guidelines for Punjab

• The Punjab government has restricted the guest limit to 10 people. One will have to take permission from the deputy commissioner to increase the guest limit and invite ten more people. 

Wedding Guidelines for Bangalore and Karnataka

• As per the latest Covid Wedding Guidelines 2021, the government has restricted the wedding guest limit to 40. 
• It will be mandatory for the guests to carry a hard copy of the invite. They will have to show the copy of the invite to enter the venue.

Wedding Guidelines for West Bengal 

• The current limit for guests and gatherings is 40 people in West Bengal. Any violation of these guidelines could lead to strict actions by the government. 

Wedding Guidelines for Uttar Pradesh

• There is a guest limit of 100 people in open spaces whereas only 50 guests are allowed in inside spaces.

Wedding Guidelines for Gujarat

• No more than 50 guests can gather at any event or wedding. Anyone attending the wedding should take the necessary precautions and wear a mask. 

Wedding Guidelines for Tamil Nadu

• A maximum of 50 guests is allowed to attend a marriage in Tamil Nadu.

Wedding Guidelines for Bihar

• No more than 50 guests can gather at wedding ceremonies in Tamil Nadu.

Covid-19 Weddings: Precautions you should take

Whether you are hosting or attending a wedding during Covid-19, you must follow these basic precautions. Follow the guidelines set by the government and celebrate your wedding in the new normal style. 

1. Limit the number of guests – Our current situation is grim, and you must limit the number of guests. If you can’t postpone your wedding further, you can change the venue and organize the ceremony in presence of your family members. 
2. Backyard wedding – The risk of transmission of covid is higher indoors than outdoors. You can have a dreamy backyard wedding. You should try not to extend the ceremony beyond two hours. 
3. Tag everyone’s glass and plates – You can tag everyone’s glass and plates to ensure they are not touching any other guests’ utensils. 
4. Say no to self-serve – Avoid having a buffet at your wedding ceremony. Ensure that there is no sharing of food and utensils.
5. Comply with the mandated number of guests – Different states have different guidelines, and a few states have also banned any type of celebration.
