This shoot is an ode to the perseverance of Indian weddings in times when we most need a reason to celebrate life. It is also an inspiration, a mood board for all the brides-to-be and their bridesmaids who are planning an intimate wedding in these times. Here’s your guide to dressing up for an intimate wedding.

Styling for an Intimate Backyard Wedding

When a girl becomes a bride, her dream is to look her best, wear the most stunning outfits and have her closest people right beside her to celebrate. Even as celebrations have become muter this year, it is no reason for a bride and her besties to look anything less than a million bucks. We at Styl Inc collaborated with some of the best couture brands from Jaipur to create looks that are traditional, simple yet full of glam and drama.

The Bridal Look

For the bride, we picked out a traditional sari with an offbeat blouse. An intimate wedding is the perfect occasion to ditch the conventional heavy lehenga and opt for a saree instead. We planned for the outfit to be light, easy to move around in and something that symbolizes the Indian culture and tradition. As for the color, we again ditched the typical shades of red and pink and opted for a stunning emerald green for the blouse and golden for the saree.

Staying connected to the roots while also breaking away from obsolete conventions was our vision for the outfit and we achieved that by picking a sari, but in a color not many brides would think of wearing on their wedding day. To complete the look, we paired the sari with an emerald and polki set. While we kept the outfit light, the jewelry was really the head turner. Layered neckpieces, stacked bangles, jhumkas, nath and statement rings, all in the stunning combinations of emerald and gold, completed her bridal look beautifully.

Dressing up The Bridesmaids

For the bridesmaids, we wanted light outfits, beautiful jewelry and just a whole lot of ethnic glam. We wanted the bridesmaids to look and feel like the life of the party and so we chose bright colors like shades of red, pink, orange and beige. While we wanted the entire group to wear ethnic ensembles, our vision was to make them look different in their own ways.

Each bridesmaid’s unique personality called for a unique outfit while dressing up for an intimate wedding. We picked out lehengas, saris, peplum blouses in bright colors and luxe embroidery to go perfectly well with a day wedding. To complete their look and to add just the right amount of bling, the girls were styled in some gorgeous polki jewelry. Styling the bridesmaids was our attempt to showcase the variety of outfits one can wear to an intimate wedding, and everything put together, each look turned out absolutely stunning, individually and as a whole.
