It is a well-known fact what we put inside our bodies, reflects on the outside. We are all vary of it and this one key factor can actually help solve a lot of our problems. Ensure you keep your body cool first and foremost in this heat. Consume cooling foods and beverages like cucumbers, watermelon, gooseberry, juices etc. This way your body will produce lesser heat and the chances of sweating too much also reduce. Moreover, it is also healthier for you. In terms of the skin, the cooler you keep your body in this weather the better. If your body produces too much heat it can also lead to you developing acne which would need extra layering to conceal. Extra layering is what we don’t want to make the makeup stay in this weather. Hence, start off with keeping your gut healthy and the work outside would get ten times easier.

Right Skin Prep

No makeup goes on well or looks good unless you do the right skin prep. Now right skin prep also requires you to know and understand your skin type. Once you figure that out, you also need to understand how your skin reacts to different weather conditions. Depending on the temperatures outside, your skin can experience changes. You would not always be one skin type, it tends to change depending on quite a number of factors. Once all of that is sorted, you can create the perfect skincare routine for yourself for the particular season. With humid weather make sure you are not going too heavy with the creams and toners. Always balance it out. Maybe if you are dry skin type you could go for a water-based toner and pair it up with some hyaluronic acid as well as a creamy but runny moisturiser. Anything with a runny consistency is lighter for the skin hence, something like that would help this season. If you are an oily skin type then you can go ahead and work with all water-based products so that your skin doesn’t produce even more oil. With combination skin, work in patches and feel free to mix and match.

We understand that it can be a lot to take in but with the right research, you can definitely ace it over time. With the correct prep, your makeup is sure to glide on easily and stay longer.

Layering and Coverage

Finally, when you move on to the makeup you ought to consider the layering, the consistency as well as the coverage you choose. As is obvious, you have to keep layering to the most minimal. If there are certain areas in which you wish to conceal more then only add that extra layering in that area. What you can also do is to only conceal the areas you consider as problem areas and then blend the product out to the rest of the face. That way you get enough coverage as well as layer less. When we go with both foundation and concealer, we risk layering it up. Sometimes even primer adds another layer to your makeup so if you can do without it, then you should definitely do it.

Correct Products

Next up is choosing the right products. Here the consistency of the product you use really plays a role. In this case, your skin type really plays a role. For oily skin types, the rule of thumb is to opt for more matte foundations because anything dewy or illuminating will not be able to sustain the natural oils your skin produces. For combination skin types, you could mix the two consistencies to come somewhere in between. Lastly, for dry skin types, you can very well go for dewy or illuminating foundations. If you prefer going for matte in this case make sure you moisturise pretty well beforehand. To decipher between matte and illuminating foundations you can check the foundation bottle, or google what foundation does what. Otherwise, the foundations that are more thick tend to create a bit of a matte finish while those that have a thin runny consistency are more dewy or illuminating.

Powdering is Key

This truly is key! Firstly it’s important to know the difference between a compact and a loose powder. A lot of times we tend to think of a compact as another powder, however, it actually is a powdered form of foundation only. Essentially, the compact is adding another layer only to the skin, making it difficult for the makeup to sustain. We recommend the option for losing powders which actually set and lock the makeup in place. If you want to set it really well then we recommend using a powder puff to properly lock the makeup in place. If you wish to powder slightly lesser especially if you are dry skin type and don’t sweat too much then use a brush to set in place.

Touch-Ups

Finally, despite all the pre-prep, there can be a number of external factors that can reduce the longevity of your makeup. In that case you always tough to keep some touch products handy in your bag. Firstly, ensure you set your makeup with a nice setting spray before stepping out of the house. You can also keep it in your bag to make the makeup look fresh during the day. Also important is to keep in your bag some blotting papers. It’s easy to sweat in this weather which you can control with the help of a blotting paper. Then you could keep your powder puff handy and things like blush and lipstick since they always do need touch ups.
