2. Expert advice to dress your body type.

It’s important to understand a few things before jumping into the specifics.

  • Balance:

Your body shape isn’t based on your weight, it’s based on your bone structure. You can use clothes to create a balance between your upper and lower body.

  • Attention:

Use colours and lines to create focus on where you want it to be. Bright colours will always draw more attention than neutrals, so will prints and patterns than solids.

You hold the power to draw attention as well as, de-emphasise whatever you want to.

3. Do’s for inverted triangle body:

  • Highlight your lower body:

If you have an inverted triangle body shape, then dresses that highlight your lower body would be a better option. These clothes work best for inverted triangle body shape.

    • Voluminous Lowers: Adding volume to the lower half of your body will help you create balance with your upper body. Hence, Voluminous skirts and trousers are the perfect fit for inverted triangle body shape.
    • Colourful Lowers: colours always draw attention towards themselves, so coloured trousers, skirts and jeans are ideal for inverted triangle body shape.
    • Large prints in the bottom half: Just like colours, large prints also draw the eye, so it’s better to stick with them in the lower half of your body. As well as, wear solid in your upper half.

  • Highlight your upper half:

  • Puff shoulders: No matter how tempted you are by the idea of wearing statement shoulders, steer clear of them. Puff sleeves and shoulders add extra volume the shoulders. It will create dis-balance between your body’s proportions.
  • Neck embellishments: As per your body shape, your goal should be to direct attention towards your lower half rather than your torso. However, Neck embellishments do the opposite of it.
  • Skinny fit jeans: Skin fit jeans will again disturb the proportion of your body. Instead, Go for straight and even wide leg silhouette.
  • Straight necklines: Straight necklines add structure to your already structured shoulders. Hence, necklines that are soft and curvy work best for you.
